Marilo, who am I, is behind the brand. For the good and for the bad I handle the entire process, from design, patronage, dressmaking, to control and search of materials, communication ...
For now I take care of everything, although I always have help from the people I have close (friends, family ...).
A few years ago due to a health problem I decided to make a change. Leave my work and my life in London and I went home, Donosti. I wanted a more "SLOW" life. Once in Donosti, I studied a bachelor's degree in costumes and shows. Here I started in the world of fashion, design and clothing. The accessories and specifically the bags always had an interest in me and I started to do something, but from a framework of sustainability and respect following this "slow" philosophy that made me decide on this change.
The inspiration for me is a bit complicated to explain, I often think something and I do not know very well where it comes from. There are topics, places, feelings ... about which I find myself thinking very often, and I believe that this may be what inspires me unconsciously: simplicity, minimalism, respect, nature, functionality...
Some time ago, a friend told me about a project being developed by her brother-in-law with a type of paper that was used as a textile. It seemed amazing to me. I liked the ecological and innovative approach of the project, but here it stayed. A few years later, when I finished my textile studies, I returned to the head that idea and I started looking for and researching different materials, alternative materials that were sustainable and respectful to the planet. In this search I found a type of paper, different from the project that had impressed me so much, but that it was also treated as a textile and that I had many possibilities and that's how I started working with this material
I'ts true, perhaps one of the most surprising aspects is that it can be washed, moreover, to make this material I previously mojoed each piece because it makes the paper more flexible and easy to work
The paper is treated with resins that make it resilient, but for me the most remarkable of this material and what made me decide to develop the brand is that it is certified by OEKO-TEX (chemical free of harmful to the people and the planet) and FSC. These certifications were essential for the project to have the full meaning it had
The collections developed, from beginning to end, in Donosti. The process is very handmade and everything comes out of a small room, maybe too small, I would like to have more space but everything in its time.
The welcome in the first year of life I value it as very good. Little by little goals are being met. I do not want to run, I want to go slowly (slow), but doing things right. Ordering one of everything has its pros and cons, but gradually I consider it good. Step by step things get better.
